The Defects Liability Period (DLP) is a minimum period of 12 months — or such other period as specified by Irish Water — between the issue of the Conformance Certificate and the issue of the Completion Certificate (IW-CDS-5020-03, Section 1.11). During this period, the Developer is responsible under the Connection Agreement for the cost of rectification of any defects in or connected to the Works. Irish Water requires night flow audits to be carried out during the DLP at the frequency required by their field engineers. We carry out the full DLP audit programme on behalf of developers — from initial night flow auditing through to final condition survey and preparation for Completion Certificate application.

What We Carry Out

  • Night flow audits at intervals required by Irish Water field engineers throughout the Defects Liability Period
  • Leak identification — any night flow deficit investigated and the leak located using acoustic detection
  • Repair of identified defects within the water supply infrastructure
  • Repeat night flow audit to confirm repair success following remediation works
  • Condition survey of water supply infrastructure in preparation for Completion Certificate application
  • Results and audit records provided to Irish Water
  • Full support from Conformance Certificate through to Completion Certificate
